Using Blocks
As we’ve previously mentioned, WP Courseware will automatically create a course listing page as well as individual course outline pages.

However, if you’d prefer to create your own course pages or you’d like to add things like sidebar navigation elements as you can see in the right-hand sidebar of this page, there are five (5) WP Courseware visual builder blocks which can be used anywhere on your site.

Let’s take a quick look at the five types of blocks and how you can configure them…

Course List Block

When placed in any area of your site, this block will present a list of your current courses and their descriptions. The course title in this block automatically links to the course’s course outline page.

You can configure the following settings:

Number of Courses to Display
Show/Hide Course Image
Show/Hide Course Description
Show/Hide Enrollment Button
Order By:
Date
Title
Order:
Ascending
Descending

Course Block

This block will output a course outline for the specified course.

You can configure the following settings:

Select Course to Display
Show/Hide Course Title
Show/Hide Course Description
Show/Hide User Quiz Grade in Outline

Course Enrollment Button Block (Free Courses Only)

If you are offering one or more free courses, this block allows you to place a self-enrollment button on the front end of your site so that students can register, log in, and access the free course(s).

You can configure the following settings:

Select Course(s) for Enrollment
Enrollment Button Text
Display “Already Enrolled” Message in Place of Button?
Redirect to First Unit After Enrollment?

Course Progress Block

This block displays a collapsible and highly customizable course outline for a specified course.

You can configure the following settings:

Select Course to Display
Show/Hide Course Description
Show/Hide Course Prerequisites
Show/Hide Course User Progress
Show/Hide User’s Current Cumulative Grade
Show/Hide Individual Quiz Grades
Show/Hide Certificate Download Button for Completed Courses
Allow Student to Reset Progress?

Course Progress Bar Block

This simple block allows you to display a horizontal progress meter which displays a student’s current percentage of completion for a specified course.

You can configure the following settings:

Show/Hide Course Title
Show/Hide Course Desccription
